The Beach at Plum Island & Parker River National Wildlife RefugeJust around the corner from Caldwell Farm, Plum Island in Newburyport offers miles of sandy beaches as well as the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge which is home to over 800 species of birds, plants and animals. Sandy Point on the southern tip of Plum Island is a great place to swim and sunbathe. Salisbury Beach State ReservationA little farther North, Salisbury Beach State Reservation is a popular spot for beach goers. 3.8 miles of sandy beach offers swimming, boating, fishing and camping.
